Accomplishments
There were many things we did this quarter, from book discussions and tableau analyses, to folder tracking and blogging. I feel as if I was very productive this quarter. I got to start a lovely new book series and even learned many new words form just fifteen minutes of vocabulary a day! From everything I've done in this class, I feel like my greatest accomplishments this quarter were the discussions we had after reading parts of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. I felt like these were challenging, but still my greatest strength. I enjoyed talking about the book and listening to everybody else's opinions on it. Not only was it fun discussing our views on the book, I also got good grades on them, making it more enjoyable for myself.
Greatest Challenge
My greatest challenge this quarter was the tableau analysis essay. We had so much time to work on it, but my group's tableau didn't have very many things to analyze. Because of that, I don't feel like I had much to write about in my essay. That made it challenging, because I was supposed to analyze the picture in detail, when there wasn't very much in the tableau. Another assignment that was challenging for me were the discussions. Even though they were my greatest accomplishments, in my group, silences would occur often.
That made it hard for us to carry a conversation because after each person talked about their opinions, we discussed for a while, then stopped. I feel like that was the only challenge in that though.
Another thing I found was a challenge may seem a little silly, but it was vocabulary. It was mainly challenging because it was hard for me to remember all of the words in the short Image Credit Here period of time that I had studied them; causing me to get them wrong. I never have been one to be good at management (something I need to improve on), so I always ended up doing my vocabulary on the last five days.
Improvements
There are many things I feel like I need to improve on, the two main things being time management and paying more attention to detail. I picked time management because I have never been good at it. I always say I'm going to do things at one time and do it later (also known as procrastination), causing me to lose track of time. My lack of time management affects my vocabulary, because if I don't do my vocabulary on time, then I miss part of the 75 minutes I'm supposed to do a week. Another thing I need to work on is paying attention to detail (I think I've mentioned this in my quarter 1 reflection). Anyways, this has always been something I have needed to work on because even the smallest detail makes the biggest difference.
